NBA Free Agency Has Caused A Change Up

Yesterday it has been confirmed that Baron Davis has signed with the Clippers, Elton Brand has signed with the 76ers and Corey Maggette has signed with the Golden State Warriors, where does each team stand after this latest switch up?

Who Got the Best Deal: The 76ers desperately needed a low post scorer and the 76ers got that and more in Elton Brand, who is a guaranteed 20 and 10 player who can give you about three or four assists per game. Having Elton Brand and Andre Igoudala on the court at the same can only be a good plus the Sixers lose nothing in turn. With Samuel Dalembart, Elton Brand and Andre Igoudala the Sixers have one of the best frontcourts in the Eastern Conference. The Sixers got the best out of this deal.

Who Got the Worst Deal: The Clippers lost a lot of scoring when losing Corey Magette to the Warriors and losing Elton Brand to the Sixers. While the Clippers gained Baron Davis the only post presence is Chris Kaman who isn’t exactly developing into the post player many thought he could be. The only scoring in their starting lineup would come from Cuttino Mobley and Baron Davis and while that tandem is good, where will the rest of the scoring come from? Tim Thomas I don’t think so.

From A Warriors Standpoint: The Warriors lost Baron Davis put made up the scoring they lost by getting Corey Magette the only problem is they have no point guard. I guess Monta Ellis could play the point, but he’s not pure point guard. Magette fits perfectly in the Warriors system simply because he loves to shoot a lot and he can drive to the basket well. I can pretty much guarantee they Magette’s scoring goes up next season simply because he’s in the up and down system of the Warriors.
